L’ESAME. La colonscopia è un esame usato per la diagnosi delle malattie del colon e del retto. Si esegue introducendo un endoscopio (cioè un lungo e sottile tubo flessibile) attraverso lo sfintere anale. La visione avviene mediante un sistema a fibre ottiche. L’intestino viene dilatato per mettere una corretta visione del lume mediante l’insufflazione di aria che verrà parzialmente aspirata al termine dell’esame. Con questo esame è anche possibile eseguire biopsie o l’asportazione di polipi. Il referto istologico di questi prelievi sarà disponibile dopo circa 8 giorni lavorativi, sempre presso la segreteria dell’ambulatorio.
